Chrissy P.: Stayed fit throughout her pregnancy and is now back in her pre-mommy form!
After becoming pregnant Chris wanted to be able to keep exercise in her weekly schedule and to be certain that she was doing exercise that would be safe for her and above all her baby. Overall, she was impressed with how easy it was to keep exercising after she grasped a few key concepts. Chris’ pre-natal exercise program was similar to a “traditional” exercise routine with a few key exceptions. The pace of her resistance workouts were taken down by about 20% as well as short lived, low intensity walks between sets to ensure that the excess blood she had did not pool in the lower extremities. Her abdominal exercises were cut to almost none compared to her previous program. This was because she could not do any exercises lying flat after the first trimester and to avoid straining any of the muscles that helped to stabilize her pelvis. Overall, Chris kept in fantastic shape during her pregnancy, had a great delivery and recovered very well after her beautiful baby girl was born.
